About
Everyone has a unique business journey. No matter where you are in your journey in agriculture, I'm here to support you in your marketing efforts to help you grow a long-term, sustainable business.
Nice to meet you!
I'm Kendall Ballantine
Like many great stories, this one started with a boy. At 27-years-old, I found myself falling for my fifth generation bird farmer Jay.
Now at the time I met Jay, he had sold his quail farming business and retired from agriculture to try his hand at something else - Owning and running a fishing lodge.
Me? Well, I was the Director of Operations of a multi-national supply chain management company... That's fancy for, I was in charge of shipping groceries for the top brands all over North America and managed offices in Canada and the USA.
When I started learning more about Jay's past life in agriculture, I wanted to start raising some chickens just for our family. I mean he had the space and equipment and it was all just sitting there. And, your girl loves herself a challenge!
At first Jay said, 'no way' because he had moved on from that part of his world but I'm not one to take no for an answer.
Eventually he caved and agreed to set me up to raise some chicken.
One day when I was at my corporate career (and he was tired of hearing me talking about my future in farming) he got to it.
When I got home he told me to head out and look at my barn - As I opened the door, there I found 500 chicks warming themselves under the heat of a brooder,
Just like that Central Park Farms was born and I was officially a farmer-in-training.
Why I Started Marketing For Farmers
Helping feed people has become one of the most important things in my life and I soon realized that the best way to help feed more people was to help support other farmers in doing the same.
Marketing For Farmers started as an Instagram account where I shared free tips and tricks for farmers looking to build financial sustainability into their businesses. Since then, I've added digital workshops, group coaching, and in-person retreats as a way to continue this mission and support my fellow farmers and ranchers in their families' journey.
We need to support our local farms and I know that empowering the women in them, is one of the best ways I can.

Central Park Farms
Soon after that first round of chickens, I fell in love with farming, so it wasn't long before I was ditching my power suits for gumboots to run my new agricultural business full-time.
Fast forward 9 years, and it's not just me running the business anymore but our mighty group of 8 that now make up our team.
We now specialize in not only chicken, but pasture raised pork, and grass-fed beef selling direct to consumer through farmers markets, our farm store, and delivery to our customers' homes.
"A family run farm you feel like you are part of. We have been buying from the farm for several years now and have grown attached to them like they were part of our family. To new customers, once you're hooked on their products, you won't be able to turn back."
Camille Mateos, Google Review
"Love, love, love this family and their growing farm. They're truly your neighbours next door and I love supporting their dream and motivation to not only grow their farm but provide excellent service and food for my family."
